OnlyinOldTown.com You can report a pothole on city-owned streets and Public
Works aims to respond within 2 business days. On average a two-person crew fixes
a pothole in just one hour with the help of a special pothole truck. Last year the
city repaired nearly a thousand potholes. We also fix potholes on state roads but
we prioritize city owned streets. Report a pothole by submitting an online service
request. You can also check if a street is maintained by the city or state on
the street ownership map at CityofRockHill.com/streets According to the US
Department of Energy weatherizing your home helps save money by saving energy
and improves the comfort of your home. Some of the most effective ways to
improve energy efficiency are by sealing doors and windows, replacing air filters,
insulating the attic, and changing the setting on your water heater. For more
information and resources visit energy.gov The city’s public works crews
collect recycling at the curb on the same day as your garbage collection.
Materials that can be recycled curbside include paper, chipboard, and cartons,
plastic bottles, jugs, and jars, aluminum and steel cans, and corrugated cardboard.
Blue bins are available free of charge by submitting an online service request.
Thank you for recycling. Your efforts mean less trash goes to the landfill.
Construction at Cherry Park along Cherry Road is underway to create an additional
entrance and exit to the park. The park was opened in 1985 and as the city has
grown so have the number of tournaments, special events, and activities at Cherry
Park. This additional exit will help alleviate traffic congestion as vehicles
leave the park and is being funded by a hospitality tax bond approved by City
Council in 2016. Thank you for watching Rock Hill update
