Suli Breaks – Anisah’s Song

Suli Breaks – Anisah’s Song

Posted on August 29, 2019 by James Radford

*Voicemail* Hey, this is Suli. I can’t pick up right now, but if you do leave your name and number, I’ll call straight back.Take care of yourself. Peace. *Voicemail* Hey, Sul. I’m not really sure where you are, but I’ve just finished.. ..and I’m gonna head home now. See you later inshallah. Love you. Asalam Walekum. And the fact of the matter is. The person I wrote this for, is never even gonna hear it. And, Allah knows she’s beautiful. Even though the clothes she wears make her look unusual. Hijab, and black scarf cover her face. So when they see her, they just look the other way. And she thinks will ever see the ended of this, due to prejudice, they just label me a terrorist. It’s the media and the messages stereotypical
lies and images. This morning the bus drove past me at full throttle. A group of kids harassed me, with a broken coke bottle. And I’m at war with my morals. The Quran says “no quarrels.. Unless in self defence, but I’m stressing and I’m tense. Asking can I borrow, a day with no sorrow. I wish Judgement Day would come and take me away tomorrow. and every time I saw her I could see she
felt hollow. How difficult would it have been for me to say, “Hello” she took another step into the mosque. readily embrace in her faith and what it cost. and I wish I would have said something
then. But then again I repent with the end of this pen. I wish I would have said something then, but then again, I repent with the end of this pen. Repent with the end of this pen. I wish that I had told her, don’t ever feel less significant because your different. You
know every time they shun you, Their just highlighting their ignorance. and what idiot said
“Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” Never look for beauty in the eyes of those who behold. Because if you ask them They will say that, that chain on your neck is pure gold. Because a human being, does not know the value of your soul. They can’t look past…*emotional stuttering* They can’t look past the nice hair, and fancy clothes. Rihanna Fenty or Beyonce Knowles. And no disrespect to either of those. But be proud that you prefer to wear your scarf over your head, to your weave exposed. And long clothes with less than shows. Rather than the mini skirt and open toes. So don’t be discouraged by the looks
that they give you on road. Because you know and I know. That is doesn’t make you any less than them. And I wish, I would have said something then, but then again, I repent with the end of this pen. As she took another step into the mosque. Readily embracing her faith and what it cost. And I wish I would have said something then, but then again. I repent with the end of this pen. Because I didn’t, she usually got driven, on her way back from revision. Her brother was on a mission, and couldn’t call her until the lights started dimming, A fatal omission. So now she’s walking by herself down a dark street she hears a noise. A couple men, maybe they were boys. I can’t exactly say, because the paper didn’t explain. All it said was “Muslim girl racially attacked on the front page” I can’t exactly say, because the paper didn’t explain. All it said was “Muslim girl racially attacked and raped on the front page” As she took another step into the mosque. Readily embracing her faith and what it cost. And I wish I would have said something then, but then again. I repent with the end of this pen. I repent with the end of this pen.

+Suli Breaks Followed Ben Browns link…Wow! So beautifully made! So horribly true! I don't understand the IGNORANCE of the human race! I was brought up to accept everyone for who they are. Not for what they are worth. But for what they value. What is their truth. It is the new generations that MUST teach the old that we ALL have souls. Blood. Bones. That when we colour in a picture with our crayons as children we don't just use one or two colours but an assortment. Because the world is FULL of colour. Maybe I've went off course a bit but u get what I mean. I just wish everyone did. 😔All I know, is when I'm teaching my now ten ur old daughter, I know I'll be teaching her the right way. To just be open-minded and accept EVERYONE and in turn hope she teaches others to be the same. BIG LUV SULI! I LOVE IT!!!👏👏👏👏👏😘

left me in tears. forever people harass those due to their religion and who they chose to be. when honestly if they look past all of that and focus on the blood inside them, we all bleed the same red blood. we all feel the same emotions, we all are really the same. #StopHate

Listening to this again after watching the documentary you just released… the intro to the piece – the voicemail – just reminded me of when you said 'I have failed her' in the doco. It felt like i was listening to a completely different piece. I guess just as you dont read a really good book one time, you dont just listen to a really good poem/spoken word one time… Thankyou. Will do my best to translate into Turkish inshaAllah.

The fact that you can hear the passion and drive in your voice and you can clearly see that you're not doing this for attention is absolutely beautiful. I was so lucky I was there at the time when I seen a woman with a scarf getting attacked by 3 men for her purse and I thought that could've been my mum and I had a friend with me and I managed to get the guys to back off and drew enough attention that they moved away and I almost lost my life first encounter with a knife but what mattered to me was helping another life and standing up for the wrong committed at the time. when I turn around turns out the person I saved was my sister real wake up call

This really got to me. I know first hand what it feels like to be racially abused because the school that I go to doesn't have many Muslims and I'm one of the only ones there. But the Jews in my school get racially abused, as do the Sikhs and Hindus. What I'm trying to say is that just stop racial abuse to anyone. Doesn't matter if you're Muslim or Jewish. We should all just get along
